Noah took this photo while we were beach camping last weekend on Long Island. It was midnight, and the scene was frightening and beautiful. If anything, certainly otherworldly. The moon was full and shrouded by a thick, fast-moving fog. Looking towards the ocean there was only one color visible, in a gradient of 4 or 5 tones, but to your left or right along the coast they all merged into a sheer gray. It wasn’t vast, rather just the opposite. I experienced a span of absolute nothing for the first time.
